Two thing shutter speed effects are the amount of light and movement.

Shutterspeed is represented with a big "S"
It has to be on "M" and "S",the difference is in "M" you have set everthing manually and on "S"
you have to change the shutter speed and set the f-stop.

yd want to control it in a dark area an because it will bring more light to your picture.

Personal Metaphor
I chose my metaphor “I feel like a Martian with a soul of fire” because sometimes when I’m around a lot of people I feel like I don’t belong or everyone is looking at me differently. The fire represents the anger or frustration I have sometimes and I feel like no one can relate. I was trying to express the Martian as an outsider and the peace symbol as a form of acceptance. The fire is my sometimes felt anger.
On my metaphor I made my finger in the “peace” symbol meaning I just want people to know that I’m ok and not weird. I put flames on my fingers to represent the anger coming out of me. The fire in my chest also represents the anger I have and that a lot of it is still in me. I painted my skin like a reptile which symbols the awkwardness and the feeling of being looked at in a different way. My ears were smudged to a pointed tip to also represent the Martian look I think it all looks ok nothing to stand out because I just used basic Photoshop. My image, in my opinion, feels unified.
I think I was creative and I put almost exactly what I wanted to on the screen. The only thing that was difficult was keeping up with the layers, I had a layer for everything. One of the things I could have done better was make the flames coming out of my finger more blended. If I could change anything, I would change the background.

We were each assigned a random object to photograph. We could choose to have it in color or black & white. We were to focus on "The Three C's".- one thing I did well was … give the picture creativity by putting the hat by it.

Shadow and Reflections
In these exercises we learned how to create shadows and reflections to help us create more realistic artwork. A new tool we learned was layer mask. The things ive learned here can help me in the future if i ever wanted to become a professional.
